Alerts are only sent when there is something actionable — not on a fixed daily schedule.
Users complete OwnWatt's free home energy audit at app.ownwatt.com. At the final step — the "Your Move" action screen — users are offered the option to receive SMS alerts.

No SMS messages are sent until the user completes all three steps. Phone number verification via OTP is required before any alerts are sent.
The following text is displayed directly below the phone number input field, visible before the user submits their number:
Users can unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP to any OwnWatt SMS message. Upon receiving STOP, no further messages will be sent to that number.
Users can also reply HELP to receive contact information.
Message frequency varies based on weather conditions, utility rate windows, and the user's energy setup. On days when no actionable alert exists, no message is sent. Typical frequency is 1–3 messages per week during active seasons.
